Which ebook format do you need?
| Where you read | Format | How to get it there |
|---|---|---|
| Kindle | EPUB | Send to Kindle (Amazon converts it) |
| Kobo | EPUB | USB, Dropbox or Google Drive |
| Apple Books (iPhone, iPad, Mac) | EPUB | Share → Books |
| Google Play Books | EPUB | Upload it to Play Books |
| Nook and most other e-readers | EPUB | Copy over USB |
| Phone, no app | — | Read in browser after converting |
In short: convert to EPUB. It's the open standard for ebooks, and it's what Amazon now recommends for Kindle too. Older formats like MOBI are no longer accepted by Send to Kindle.
How to convert a PDF to an ebook
- Choose or drop your PDF on the converter above.
- Epubfy detects the chapters, removes page headers and numbers, and joins the text back into paragraphs.
- Fix the title if needed, then Download EPUB — or tap Read in browser to start reading right away.
What makes a good ebook conversion
- Real chapters. Headings become a table of contents, so you can jump around the book.
- Clean text. No page numbers or running headers in the middle of sentences, no lines cut at the old page width.
- The original words. Epubfy copies the text exactly — only the layout changes.
- Pictures kept. Images and diagrams stay where they belong.
Not every PDF should become an ebook: scans, comics, magazines and pages full of equations are better kept as PDF. See EPUB vs PDF for when to convert.
