Privacy Policy

Epubfy converts PDFs into EPUB ebooks. We built it to keep as little of your data as possible, for as short a time as possible.
Your files
- The PDF you upload is stored on our server only while it is being converted, and is deleted as soon as it has been read — usually within a minute.
- The finished EPUB (and the "Read in browser" version) is kept for 60 minutes so you can download it, then deleted automatically. Restarting the service also deletes everything.
- Each conversion gets a long random link. Anyone with the link can download the result until it is deleted, so don't share it if the document is private.
- We don't look at, copy, share or sell your files, and we don't use them to train AI.
- A password you enter for a protected PDF is used only to open the file and is never stored.
AI structure detection
To find the chapters and headings, Epubfy sends a sample of lines from some pages, together with their font sizes and styles, to an AI service (DeepSeek). The AI returns only a description of the structure — for example "chapter titles are 20 pt bold" — and never the text of your book. The full document is not sent. The AI provider processes the sample under its own API terms.
Daily limit
To enforce the free limit of 3 conversions a day, the converter counts conversions per visitor using your IP address combined with a secret key that changes every day. This count is kept only in memory, is never written to disk, and disappears at the end of the day.
Anonymous visit statistics
To understand how the site is used, we count page views, which buttons are clicked (for example "Download EPUB"), whether a conversion succeeded, and whether a page stayed open for a few seconds. We don't use cookies or store anything on your device for this, the statistics don't store your IP address, and they contain nothing about your files — not even the file name. Visits are counted with a daily-changing anonymous code, so they can't be linked across days or to you.
Storage on your device
The converter remembers the conversion you're working on in your browser's session storage, so a page refresh doesn't lose it. The "Read in browser" view remembers your text size, theme and reading position in your browser's local storage. Neither is sent to us, and you can clear them any time in your browser settings.
Server logs
Like any website, our web server keeps standard access logs for the site's pages (IP address, browser type, page requested and time) for security and to keep the site running. Requests to the converter (uploads, downloads and the reading view) are not logged. Logs are deleted after two weeks.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
